IMPORTANCE
OF LEARNING FRENCH
1.
Career Advantages
In
the competitive job market, bilingualism can set you apart. French is the
second most widely learned foreign language after English and is the sixth most
widely spoken language in the world. Many multinational companies value
employees who can speak French, especially those with a presence in Francophone
countries. Industries such as international business, diplomacy, and tourism
often seek candidates with proficiency in French.
Take
Shakira, for instance. The globally renowned singer and songwriter learned
French, which has enabled her to connect with a broader audience and perform in
French-speaking countries with ease.
2.
It is one of the most world-wide spoken language
Just
like we saw, French is spoken on all five continents. You will always
find a little bit of French somewhere, no matter where you are on the planet. There
are roughly 76 million native speakers and about 235 million
people that know and speak French on a daily basis (as their second or
third language). Needless to say that French is one of the most worldwide
spoken languages and it is in itself a very good reason to begin
learning French today. It is also a good motivation: it will help you
meet people from all over the world and travel wherever you want to.
3.
Tourism is Huge in France and Other French Countries
France alone attracts over seventy million visitors a year but that doesn’t include other places that speak French like the Caribbean, Europe, and parts of Africa. Paris was recently named by Fortune Magazine as one of the top ten global cities. Overall, France is the second most visited tourist location in the world and knowing a little bit of French will make your travel experience that much better.
