HABITS OF SUCCESSFUL STUDENTS – PART 2

5. Start with the most difficult subject
first.

As your most difficult assignment or subject will require the most effort and
mental energy you should start with it first. Once you have completed the most
difficult work it will be much easier to complete the rest of your work.
Believe it or not, starting with the most difficult work will greatly improve
the effectiveness of your study sessions and your academic performance.

6. They stay organized

At
this point, it’s no secret, we’re BIG on organization here at Educational
Connections, because it’s one of the most effective tools you can use with your
student to help them improve their performance in school. Oftentimes academic
or behavioural issues are merely symptoms of disorganization and lack of
routine.

7. Study at the same time

Not
only is it important that you plan when you’re going to study, it’s important
you create a consistent, daily study routine. When you study at the same time
each day and each week, you’re studying will become a regular part of your
life. You’ll be mentally and emotionally more prepared for each study session
and each study session will become more productive. If you have to change your
schedule from time to time due to unexpected events, that’s okay, but get back
on your routine as soon as the event has passed.

8. Eat healthy is also Habits of
Successful Students

Nutritious
food acts as fuel for the body & the brain. A healthy breakfast is
particularly necessary to jumpstart your day. Keeping healthy snacks at hand
for those long study sessions is ideal. That way you will not binge on junk
food. While caffeine may give you a boost in those study hours, too much of it
can among other things impact the quality of sleep. Ensure also to keep
yourself hydrated. Besides regulating your body temperature, delivering the
necessary nutrients to the cells, and helping organs to function properly, it
also improves sleep quality, cognition & mood.
