Why
is Uniform important in Schools?

1.
Sense of Belonging and School Identity

Uniforms
instill a sense of belonging and pride in students, fostering a strong
connection to their school. This shared identity can contribute to a positive
school culture and enhance the overall learning experience.

2.
Cohesion and Equality

School
uniforms mean that all students wear the same clothing, helping to level out
the playing field. This removes any preconceived ideas about what to wear,
allowing for greater group cohesion and commonality. As a result,
uniforms demonstrate a clear message of equality. Modern schools
introducing trousers for girls is an important part of this
equality, showing that all children – regardless of gender, socioeconomic
background, or otherwise – are all the same and come from the same
starting point.

Improves behavior

When
children wear a uniform, as well as gaining a sense of pride, we find that
wearing a uniform improves discipline and concentration. Wearing a uniform sets
a boundary by placing a pupil in a ‘working environment’ mindset and helps them
separate their home and school life. School uniform places children on a level
playing field, reducing the pressure to wear the latest fashionable brands.
While non-uniform days may be exciting, research has found that pupils view
them as ‘non-work’ days, and teachers report a drop in behavior standards as a
result.

4.
Saves Time and Money

While
there is a cost for school uniforms, it’s usually much less than having to pay
for new school wardrobes — especially when children often feel the pressure to
buy expensive designer clothes in order to fit in. Having a clearly-defined
school uniform makes it easy for parents to know exactly what has to be
purchased, saving time and money and preventing the guilt trip that comes from
children trying to persuade them to buy what they want.

Test Time

You will be able to move through the exam at your own pace within each 3-hour test section. Three hours are provided for the first 85 questions and another 3 hours for the last 85 questions. Each section is subdivided into two subsections. Candidates may take an optional break after question 43 of the first subsection.

You will also be able to take a 40-minute break between sections. Additionally, two optional breaks between subsections 1A and 1B as well as between section 2A and 2B as needed.
